| William Hessian, in cooperation with the Jamestown Art Center, presents the 2006 Buffalo Treasure Hunt. 10 miniature paintings are hidden around the public parks and monuments of Jamestown, ND as part of a community art project during the 2006 summer artist-in-residency program. The hunt began on July 30th, 2006 and the last buffalo was found on August 7th, 2006. The lucky buffao finders of a hidden buffalo painting have been rewarded a free single membership to the art center ($35 value). The white buffalo finder was rewarded a $40 gift certificate to the local Grizzlies and also a single membership to the Jamestown Art Center. The finders will also get to keep the artwork as well. As a child William was encouraged by his parents to draw smaller as an effort to save paper. Growing up in St. Louis Park, Minnesota is where he learned to draw such small subjects, and has recently finished another series of super small scaled paintings called the Bearded Bunnies. All 14 miniature bearded bunny paintings are so small they are currently hanging on the walls of a normal suitcase. A travelling gallery that fits in an overhead compartment.
