In an attempt to make sure only my best work live on, I will be destroying any art that is not sold.
The reason I destroy my unsold art is because I am trying to explore a very intense side of art, which includes the balance of creation and destruction. I paint each painting live on this webpage, and then destroy each unsold one if they do not sell. Leaving behind only my valued work, and destroying that which is not valued by you, the viewer.
Canvas Kill Live is a web cam live painting show with a twist. All paintings individually will be available for sale right here on this page. Each painting will only be given 7 days of life to be sold, or else that painting will be destroyed/murdered/killed during the following week's live performance. In past shows artwork has been stabbed and smashed with a chair, violently sawed with a rusty saw, and blended up in a blender and drank. All Canvas Kill Live shows will feature live painting sessions, and some shows will also feature the destruction of paintings(by new and various means each time), on the occasions that the prior painting is not sold. Based on the success of the first six shows, more sessions may be added. In this tough economic time, it seems less is more. therefore only my good desirable work will survive; the rest will be destroyed. The current goal is build an audience for the live painting show, and feature my work for an affordable price; while also interacting with viewers and challenging their idea of 'what is art'?
